Party Before The Party

Some of you are thinking about flying into Lisbon for some time before heading down to the Algarve. This is a fantastic idea. Lisbon has so much culture and entertainment to offer, especially during the summer time.

Here are a couple things you will want to consider:

  • Cheaper Flights
    • For most of us, flying into Lisbon will be a bit cheaper than flying into Faro.
    • For less than € 30 and 3 hours, you can take a beautiful high speed train ride to Faro.
    • Here you can check the prices and schedules. https://www.cp.pt/passageiros/pt/comprar-bilhetes
      • Start: Lisboa Oriente [10 min from Lisbon airport]
      • End: Faro [10 min from Faro airport]
    • If you are planning on flying home from Lisbon after the trip, be sure to build in travel time BEFORE your international flight wait times.
  • Hot Spots
    • The location for our group vacation will be about relaxing, beach, golf, and family time. If you are looking for a higher energy vibe, Lisboa’s got you covered.
    • PSA: LISBON IS NOT FLAT. You will want your best walking shoes here. they don’t call it the city of 7 hills for nothing…….
    • Chiado and Bairro Alto
      • This is the shopping and party area of the city. Best bars, great food, loads of energy and people in the area.
      • Housing is tiny and very Portuguese.
    • Alfama
      • Alfama is an old, gentle and humble suburb in Lisbon. Located at the foot of São Jorge Castle, between the hill and the ocean, this neighborhood holds the essence of the city.
      • Tiny streets, plenty of culture. One of Lisbon’s biggest parties will be held here, June 12th. You might still catch some vibes in the area!
    • Belém
      • If you are looking for easy access to the party but not to stay in the lively area, this is your spot.
      • Great tourism, tons of restaurants, easy access to the beaches AND the city. This is gets the best of it all.
      • The housing will be a bit cozier than the city vibes. There are some really beautiful hotels hosted in old mansions of former high society!
    • Cascais
      • If you are looking for a more elegant vibe to kick off your Portugal experience, look no further. This old fisherman’s village has beaches, luxury, shopping, restaurants, and activities galore.
      • This is a short 40 min train ride form the heart of the city. And trust me, this is a train ride you don’t want to miss.
      • Housing will cost more here, but let’s be real, you are here because you want that vibe. Nothing small or short changed about what this place has to offer.
